Learning Content

Overview

The course responds to current image practice in the age of generative AI.

Four principles guide all sessions:

  1. Fundamentals first: layers, masks, color spaces and tonal values remain
    the technical base.
  2. Joy of experiment: playful trial-and-error is part of the method.
  3. AI as a tool: AI extends artistic process, but does not replace craft.
  4. Active learning: students work hands-on, teach each other and reflect
    through a process journal.

Outcomes

  • Use non-destructive editing consistently.
  • Build solid selection and compositing workflows.
  • Apply retouching and color grading intentionally.
  • Prepare files for print output.
  • Reflect critically on AI-assisted image work.
